Zilker Vehicle Technology LLC was formed by individuals from Texas and Michigan who have varied backgrounds in mechanical engineering and design, fabrication, and machining in the motorsports, automotive, and aerospace industries. The core expertise of the team is mechanical design for prototype, proof of concept, and low volume manufacturing. The Zilker Vehicle team is passionate about and committed to advancing the performance of vehicles from reducing the energy used in transportation to reducing the lap times around the racetrack; focusing primarily on energy-efficiency technologies and motorsports applications. Some of our many projects have included advanced diesel and gasoline engines, continuously variable transmissions, hybrid vehicles, ethanol-powered vehicles and SCCA and Formula SAE racecars among others. Our team brings together experience from leading companies engaged in automotive powertrain R&D, environmental solutions, advanced transmissions, semiconductors, and aerospace systems. In addition to this professional background our team also has nearly three decades of combined Formula SAE experience spanning over a decade while producing 13 Formula SAE entries. Team captains and Technical Directors from six of those entries are now on the Zilker Vehicle team. Additionally our team members have also contributed to Solar Car and Ethanol Vehicle Challenge entries with The University of Texas. Zilker Vehicle Technology LLC is a certified HUB (Historically Underutilized Business) with the State of Texas.
